27-year-old woman starts handing out dating RESUMES to men she finds attractive

A 27-year-old woman has started handing out dating resumés to men that she finds attractive – after growing exasperated with trying to find a boyfriend through online dating apps.

Emily Zgoda, from San Diego, California, said she wasn’t having any luck on Hinge, Tinder, or Bumble, so she decided to make physical copies of her profile and start handing them out to potential suitors.

She printed out some photos of herself, and wrote fun facts about herself on the back of them – including things like her favorite hobbies (surfing and watching New Girl), her simple pleasures (eating bagels), and her special skills (singing like Aretha Franklin).

She then headed to local fast food joints, restaurants, supermarkets, and stores and gave one to any guy that she thought was cute.

She documented the whole thing and shared it to her TikTok account – which quickly went viral, earning her more than one million likes across all of her videos, and leaving many people on the web enthralled with watching it all play out.

The first video, which was posted last month and got more than 660,000 views, showed her walking into a Cosco and giving one of her dating resumés to a handsome man.

On the resumé, she detailed her love for the Irish holiday St. Patrick’s Day, writing, that a ‘green flag’ she looks for in a guy is that he ‘loves St. Patty’s Day’ and that her most irrational fear is ‘being sick on St. Patty’s day.’ It also included her name, age, and phone number.

The guy, whose name is Jason, appeared to be amused by her plan and smiled widely as she explained it to him and handed him her resume.

He ended up texting her telling her that he saw her TikTok video, and the two began chatting before he asked her to hang out. Unfortunately, however, he ended up canceling the date.

‘I was so close,’ she joked in a TikTok afterwards. ‘He has some stuff to do. Maybe we’ll go next weekend, who knows.’

In an interview with Buzzfeed, Emily explained that meeting new people has become difficult for her generation, who often turn to online dating to look for a lover – but she still has ‘hopes’ of finding her future boyfriend in person.

‘I have gone on a few Hinge dates here and there, [and] most of them have been with great guys, just not my guy,’ she explained to the outlet.

‘It’s a harsh reality that some of our generation relies on dating apps instead of meeting organically, and I have always had hopes of meeting someone in person.

‘I figured this would be a good strategy to cut to the chase and meet someone in the wild.’

In another video, Emily approached a man at a sporting event, and handed him one of her resumes, which said, ‘Dating me is like: Riding your favorite sea lion down the ocean on a summer day.’

She also joked on the paper that she once dated Zac Efron, which seemed to have caught the man’s eye, as she revealed on TikTok that he later sent her a text saying, ‘Hey it’s Zac Efron! [Just Kidding], but is it a bad thing is my name actually is Zac?’

She then asked the man what he thought of her resumé, to which he responded, ‘Very solid, maybe add a fav hobby?’

In a follow-up video, after a fan asked her what she says to the guys when she approaches them, she explained, ‘I speak from the heart. I hit them with the, “I think you’re pretty cute and I’m handing out a dating resume.”‘

‘Worst they can say is no,’ she continued. ‘Girls, go get them!’

Other places that she handed out her dating resumés included Trader Joes, Home Depot, the car wash, a rock climbing gym, the Apple store, and a park.

‘Keep up the dating card game,’ he wrote. ‘Way more personal and cooler than Tinder, see you in the frozen section next to the fried rice.’

‘I definitely receive mixed responses, but most of the time they are so caught off guard that it’s a great icebreaker,’ she explained.

‘In one particularly funny handout, as I was handing a guy the card, his Apple Watch buzzed with a text from “Cutie GF.” Welp.’

When it comes to choosing which photos to use, she said she picks ones that show ‘the most personality.’

‘My friends would describe me as energetic and goofy, so I want to showcase the ones that reflect my true personality,’ she added.
