You’re taking the p***! Bizarre toilet seat embedded with retro smartphones goes on sale for £976 – so, would YOU buy it?

From the return of the Nokia 6310 to a surge in vinyl sales, it’s safe to say that retro devices are making a comeback. 

Now, the retro revival has been taken a step further, with the launch of a very unusual toilet seat. 

The toilet seat is embedded with nostalgic device, including a Blackberry, Motorola flip phones, and even vintage charging cables. 

But if you want to get your hands on it, you’ll have to be quick (and willing to splash the cash!)

The toilet seat is on sale for a whopping £978 – and there are only two in existence.

The ‘2G TRASH PHONES Toilet Seat’ is the brainchild of Bailey Hikawa, an artist and industrial designer based in Los Angeles. 

Ms Hikawa launched her studio in 2019 with a line of ergonomic and sculptural iPhone cases. 

However, she really shot to fame in 2023, when she launched a line of custom toilet seats. 

Her latest design features dozens of retro smartphones embedded in grey, speckled resin. 

‘Handmade in our studio in Los Angeles these seats are one of a kind and made one at a time, meant to last a lifetime,’ the description for the toilet seat reads.

perhaps the wackiest of all is the ‘YOUR HAIR IS EVERYWHERE Toilet Seat’, which has long locks of hair embedded in the resin, and retails for £1,056

‘Highest quality durable resin that will last a lifetime. 

‘Its pretty much a family heirloom that you can pass down to your kids.’

While only two of these particular toilet seats exist, Ms Hikawa has several other wacky designs up for grabs on her website. 

Watch collectors might enjoy the ‘A MATTER OF TIME Toilet Seat’, which costs £1,369 and has several watches embedded. 

Meanwhile, any budding opticians might be drawn to the ‘CLEAR VISIONS Toilet Seat’, which retails at £978 and has spectacles, sunglasses and lenses embedded. 

However, perhaps the wackiest of all is the ‘YOUR HAIR IS EVERYWHERE Toilet Seat’, which has long locks of hair embedded in the resin, and retails at £1,056.
