A senior Queensland politician has admitted to a hilarious blunder after she accidentally brushed her teeth with peppermint foot cream.
Kate Jones, the state’s Minister for Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games, posted about the embarrassing mix up to Twitter on Thursday night.
‘So one of these is toothpaste the other is peppermint foot revival cream – guess which one I just brushed my teeth with?’ Ms Jones posted along with a photo of two similar looking tubes of cream.

Ms Jones posted a picture of the tube of toothpaste next to the offending tube of foot cream
The 40-year-old also finished the tweet with the hashtags #exhausted and #footinmouth.
The account of the high profile Queensland cabinet member shows she has been tirelessly travelling the state and even overseas to promote her innovation and technology portfolio.
Brisbane-born Jones worked as a media advisor to other MPs before entering politics herself in 2006.
She was elected to the seat of Ashgrove and held the seat until being ousted by Campbell Newman in 2012 who became Premier.
Ms Jones, then re-contested her seat in 2015, beating Newman and becoming only the second Queensland politician to unseat a sitting Premier.
She is married to Paul Cronin who heads media relations at Queensland Rail.
