Aaron Carter has revealed that his first child’s name will honor controversial singer Michael Jackson – whom he had a relationship with when he was young – as his fiancee Melanie Martin is just days away from giving birth.
The 33-year-old singer – who is expecting a son with his partner any day now – told TMZ on Thursday that they decided their soon-to-be born baby boy’s name will be Prince Lyric Carter which is a nod to the late singer.
As Aaron was close to Michael and considered him a mentor, the Bad singer nicknamed the youngster ‘The Prince Of Pop’ which is a reference to MJ’s famous moniker of ‘The King Of Pop’ so the name is a reference to that.

Jackson has been a controversial figure in recent years as he was the subject of 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland, which presents the accounts of two men who say the late King of Pop sexually molested them when they were children.
Jackson died of cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009, in Los Angeles.

Carter also said that their baby may be arriving by caesarian section due to high risk factors for Melanie.
TMZ reports that they were told she has anemia and ulcerative colitis in addition to the baby being in breech position, meaning feet first, for the first six months of pregnancy but is back in normal position now.
Melanie’s parents will be there for the birth, however, Nick is estranged from both his brother Nick and their mom and reached out to both but told the publication that he has still not heard back.
Last month Aaron avoided jail time after making a plea deal for a 2017 DUI case and was placed on 12 months of probation.

Aaron’s plea deal comes four years after he was stopped by police in Habersham, Georgia, when he was out with his then-girlfriend, Madison Parker, but declined to take a breathalyzer test when officers suspected he’d been drinking.
In addition to 12 months of probation, Carter will have to complete 40 hours of community service, take DUI risk reduction classes, and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and then comply with any other treatment that is deemed to be appropriate.
He will also need to pay around $1,500 in court fees and fines, and in return, the DUI charge will be dropped.
No doubt Aaron has been excited about becoming a father for the first time as last month he shared a snap of Melanie’s growing baby bump.

In June last year, Melanie suffered a devastating miscarriage due to stress and Aaron made it his mission to keep her healthy.
‘We’re gonna give it some time, let her heal and then we’re going to try again,’ he said during a livestream. ‘We both want that. I gotta take care of her.’
