AFL WAG Tayla Damir reveals why she and her husband Nathan Broad are fleeing Melbourne and moving back to Perth – despite him playing for the Richmond Tigers

Tayla Damir has revealed the reason why she and her husband Nathan Broad are moving back to Western Australia.

The former Love Island star, 27, announced in October that she and her AFL star husband, 30, will be building a new home in Perth for their family.

Tayla, who is currently based in Melbourne with Nathan, has now given an insight into the big decision when asked about it in an Instagram Stories Q&A session.

One fan asked her: ‘Will you ever move back to WA?’ to which Tayla simply replied: ‘Yes,’ alongside a snap from a lavish building overlooking the Perth cityscape.

Of her building plans, another fan asked: ‘Why are you building a house in WA when Nathan plays for Richmond?’

Late last year, Tayla announced she and Nathan had begun working on a new Perth home for their growing family.

‘Sharing the process of our Perth build. Excited is an understatement,’ she captioned alongside a recent image of an interior.

Tayla and Nathan, who tied the knot in October 2022, welcomed their first child together – a daughter called Samara – in August.

She returned to work five months after welcoming the little one and opened up about the challenges of being a working mother.

‘Lots of friends are stepping in, it’s obviously a bit of a hard time without family [being in Melbourne], but we’ve got a really good support network over here to help,’ she told Nine Entertainment at the Australian Open last month.

She also took to Instagram to candidly open up about having her first child alongside a smiling selfie.

‘Just to keep it real. 10/10 would not recommend having a baby and trying to work without family to help,’ she wrote alongside the photo.
