German supermarket Aldi has sent social media into a spin after announcing their latest special is a clothes dryer for only $199. 

Aldi has shifted towards cleaning appliances such as the dryer in its Special Buys category which offers specially discounted items on Wednesdays and Saturdays.   

The catalogue lists the item as a 6.3kg unit which can take a large load of washing.

Aldi has released a 6.3kg clothes dryer for $199, considerably cheaper than others on the market 

Those looking to snap up one of these will have to get in soon because the ad notes that they have limited stock.  

The super cheap dryer attracted the attention of first home buyers and housemates looking to streamline the washing process.

‘I saw its only $200 and I need it but I can’t carry it,’ one commenter said. 

‘I know you don’t like Aldi but this is cheap,’ said another to their friend.

‘$200!!! We need!!’ Said another commenter. 

In comparison to the $199 price tag, other retailers are listing units with a similar load limit as costing between $400 and $900. 

The retailer well known for its amazing specials on Dyson Vacuum cleaners and $90 mountain bikes have constantly caught the attention of those hunting for a bargain. 

Aldi sold a similar 6.5kg unit in 2015 for $229 meaning this time around it is even cheaper.
