‘She hasn’t even been on TV for almost nine months’: Logie nominee Amanda Keller answers VERY awkward question about rival Carrie Bickmore
The Living Room host Amanda Keller, 57, is up for multiple Logie Awards this year.
And on Wednesday, the veteran TV star was given some very awkward questions regarding going up against The Project panelists Waleed Aly and Carrie Bickmore in her award categories.
At first she was cheekily asked why she deserved the Gold over Waleed, before being asked what it would be like to lose to Carrie in the ‘Most Popular Presenter’.
‘She’s got a baby at home’: Amanda Keller, 57, has given a very awkward answer to a question about Carrie Bickmore winning a Logie during an interview on The Project on Wednesday
‘Our very own Carrie Bickmore is up for most popular presenter. She’s a gun,’ co-host Gorgi Coghlan boasted of the Project host.
‘She hasn’t even been on TV for almost nine months. So how will you feel if she beats you in that category?’ Gorgi bluntly asked in the awkward exchange.
Amanda didn’t seem to take the question personally, and instead offered an offbeat joke about Carrie – who has recently been off on maternity leave.
‘Oh look, Carrie has had a baby,’ Amanda begun.
‘She’s got a baby on the shelf at home. She doesn’t need a Logie,’ Amanda said, laughing
She continued: ‘She’s got a baby on the shelf at home. She doesn’t need a Logie.’
Comedian and co-host Peter Helliar joked about a public service announcement of not putting ‘babies on shelves.’
‘Don’t put babies on shelves,’ Amanda continued, comically adding: ‘use them as doorstops, obviously. Logies – not babies.’
Nominated: Carrie is nominated for a Logie in the ‘Most Popular Presenter’ category, despite not appearing on TV for almost nine months while taking maternity leave
Not fazed: It comes after Amanda was recently targeted with a smear campaign by fellow nominee Tom Gleeson, which she shrugged off. Pictured here on May, 26
