American late show host Stephen Colbert mocks Scott Morrison for ‘pooping his pants at McDonald’s’ and jokes that the PM’s reelection campaign ‘is going down the drain’

American comedian Stephen Colbert has taken aim at Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Addressing Morrison’s recent headlines during his monologue on Friday night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the funnyman first likened Morrison to a ‘bull frog thinking about the fly who got away’.

He continued: ‘Ever since Morrison was elected, the Australian PM has been dogged by scandal, everything from allegations of racism to his friendship with a prominent QAnon conspiracy theorist.

‘That’s not good – of course down there politicians’ reputations go down the drain counterclockwise.’

Colbert also addressed rumours that Morrison soiled himself at McDonald’s the night the Cronulla Sharks lost the 1997 Grand Final.

‘Morrison’s press got so bad that last year the Prime Minister went on the radio to deny he’d ever pooped his pants at McDonald’s. And no one asked,’ he joked.

In 2020, while speaking to KIIS FM’s Will and Woody show, the Prime Minister laughed heartily when asked if the story was true.

‘That is the biggest load of rubbish that thing,’ he told the KIIS FM radio hosts, adding that it was a source of amusement among his staff.

Colbert went on to mock the PM for accidentally bowling over a child during a soccer match this week.

‘So he launched a reboot this week to get some good press, which brings as to the latest Morrison news: Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison tackled a child to the ground during an election photo-op.

‘To which his campaign responded, “can we go back to the McDonald’s pooping thing?”‘ he joked.

Morrison was visiting the Devonport Strikers Soccer Club on Wednesday, which is in the electorate of Braddon in Tasmania, when he knocked the child down during a soccer game.

The little boy, called Luca, who was ‘bulldozed’ by Morrison, later appeared on the Today show along with his grandmother Joy to discuss the tackle, with the child telling the co-hosts he was ‘good’ and wasn’t hurt.

Colbert’s comments came hours before the polls closed for Australia’s federal election, with Morrison’s Liberal government hoping for reelection.
