Anderson Cooper on Thursday revealed he has welcomed a second son named Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper.

The CNN personality, 54, announced the big news on his show on Thursday evening.

‘I wanted to start off with some good news which also happens to be very personal news,’ Cooper, who is father to son Wyatt Morgan, 21, months, with his ex Benjamin Maisani, said on his CNN broadcast Thursday.

The latest: Anderson Cooper, 54, on Thursday revealed he has welcomed a second son named Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was snapped in NYC in December

‘In April of 2020, in the early dark days of the pandemic, you may recall I announced the birth of my son Wyatt,’ Cooper said.

He showed off Wyatt’s baby pics on the screen and said, ‘These are the pictures I showed of my son taken just days after he was born. This is Wyatt today he’s nearly 22 months old and sweet and funny and the greatest joy in my life.’

Cooper continued: ‘If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it’s because he now has a baby brother.

‘His name is Sebastian and I would like you to meet him – this is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper – he was 6.8 pounds at birth, and he is healthy and happy, even his occasional hiccups are, to me, adorable.’

Cooper in April of 2020 announced the birth of his son Wyatt in a segment on CNN.

‘As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son’s birth,’ Cooper said at the time. ‘He is sweet, and soft and healthy and I am beyond happy.’

In the segment, Cooper juxtaposed the then-emerging pandemic with the warm feelings he felt becoming a parent.

‘It has been a difficult time in all of our lives, and there are certainly many hard days ahead,’ Cooper said. ‘It is, I think, especially important in times of trouble to hold on to moments of joy and happiness. Even as we mourn the loss of loved ones, we are also blessed with new life – new love.’
