It appears some people are never satisfied, as Andres Iniesta has revealed he would’ve liked to win the Champions League more times than the four trophies he achieved with Barcelona.

Iniesta, on the front cover of Club del Deportista this month, spoke to the magazine about Barcelona’s recent misery in the competition, combined with the success of Real Madrid.

‘I don’t feel angry,’ said Iniesta (via Goal). ‘Of course, I’d have liked to win more Champions Leagues. Who wouldn’t?’

He does admit that he should feel proud of the four Champions League titles he has picked up during his career though.

‘I think the people have to feel proud of what was achieved, because it made them happy.

‘Beyond that, you can’t do anything. Madrid won Champions Leagues, they’ll be happy about that, and they won’t be happy for having not won the league titles that other teams won.

‘It’s true Barca had the squad in the last few years to have been able to take another step forward in the Champions League.’

Barcelona last won the Champions League in 2015, with Andres Iniesta still at the club. Since then, they’ve been knocked out at the quarter-final stage every year. They will face Manchester United in the quarter-finals this year.

Iniesta left Barcelona last year after 16 years at the club, during which time he scored 57 goals and provided 140 assists in all competitions. He now plays for Vissel Kobe in Japan.
