  • A 21-year-old woman claims he assaulted her on the train at 5am on Saturday 
  • NSW Police have released CCTV footage in as part of an investigation to find him

A young woman was indecently assaulted on a Sydney train just before sunrise on Saturday morning.

The female passenger, 21, was travelling between Lakemba and Central Station at about 5am when a man boarded the train and sat opposite her.

A short time later, she alleges the middle-aged man indecently assaulted her.  

Police have since released an image of an Asian man wanted for questioning over the sexual attack.

The woman told officers at the station, who have launched an investigation.

The man they are looking for is described as Asian, aged in his mid-30s and slim.

A CCTV image of the man has been released to the public in hopes of finding the man.

In the image, he is wearing a black beanie, dark pants and a black jacket.

NSW Police have also released the image to Facebook.

They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
