Lewis Hamilton began his hunt for a record-equaling fifth Formula One world championship in style as he qualified in pole position for the season-opening Australia Grand Prix.

Hamilton blitzed the opposition in Q3 with a sensational final lap, however he must beware the Ferraris, with Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel starting second and third on the grid.
