Bachelorette’s Courtney Dober girlfriend Lily McManus split

They first fell in love after meeting on The Bachelor: Winter Games, which filmed in the States.

But it’s all over for Lily McManus and Courtney Dober  who announced their split on Tuesday after ‘eight months, two weeks and two days’.

The break-up news comes the same week two other couples from the Bachelor franchise – Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate and Megan Marx and Jake Ellis – also revealed the end of their respective relationships.

In an emotional Instagram post, Courtney, 31, explained he and Lily had decided to ‘end the relationship but continue it as mates’.

He wrote: ‘We’re best friends and its become clear to both of us that the emotional side of our relationship just doesn’t allow us to be the best versions of ourselves.

‘Perhaps in a world where there are no distractions, no life obstacles, nothing else mattered and looking into the future wasn’t even a thought, things might be different… but that’s not reality and we’ve decided that this is for the best.’

Courtney concluded, ‘I’ve always lived under the motto — “Everything happens for a reason” and I have no doubt we were meant to meet.’

The spin-off series had 30 former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants from around the world come together for a second chance at finding love.

The couple fell in love while filming the US reality show and called Los Angeles home for the duration of their relationship.

Courtney first appeared on Australian screens during Georgia Love’s season of the Bachelorette in 2016 while Lily tried to steal the heart of The Bachelor New Zealand’s Zac Franich.

Meanwhile, it seems like there’s something in the water when it comes to relationships  which began on The Bachelor franchise.

On Tuesday, Megan Marx and Jake Ellis took to social media to confirm they had called time on their relationship, after falling in love on Bachelor in Paradise, which aired earlier this year.

Megan wrote: ‘Jake is easily the biggest-hearted man I’ve ever met, and I’d be lying if I said this break up has been anything but destroying.’

With an equally heartfelt post, Jake responded: ‘Megan and I are sadly taking a break from our relationship together and words will never express the heartbreak I’m feeling right now.’
