NSW Police and ambulance paramedics received multiple calls for assistance around 7pm.

The 18-year-old was treated by paramedics on scene for a knife wound to his chest.

He was rushed to Shoalhaven Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.

Police are investigating the events surrounding the young boys death and said all witnesses are being cooperative.

Detective Acting Inspector Ian Griffin urged anyone with information or CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

‘It’s a terrible set of circumstances but there’s certainly nothing in our investigation that should concern the community and we will continue to try to find out what has occurred,’ Insp Griffin said.

‘It’s too early to speculate at this time but our eyes are open to all possibilities.’

Neighbour Gage Hood told 9News the whole scene was ‘pretty hectic’ and questioned how the tragic death happened.

‘The story was someone fell on a knife, but you don’t fall on a knife,’ he said.

As news spread of the teenagers death, friends and family began sharing tributes online.

‘I love you forever my beautiful baby cousin. I’m going to be lost without you, I still don’t want to except your not longer here and that I can’t call you or see you at family events,’ Bailey’s cousin wrote in a touching Facebook tribute.

‘Its already hurting so much you’ve left a hole in my heart that will never go away Christmas with out you their, no sharing birthdays, please just come home I don’t want you to be gone life’s so cruel.
