Bayern Munich have unveiled their authentic gear for the traditional annual Oktoberfest event, which is scheduled to take place next month.

First-team stars, including England captain Harry Kane, were spotted wearing the traditional lederhosen alongside their new manager Vincent Kompany.

The Belgian head coach guided his team to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Wolfsburg in their opening Bundesliga game of the season, with former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry scoring the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

Kompany was the shock appointment of Bayern Munich back in May and he has stated from the beginning that he aimed to shape the team to his personality.

It appears that Kompany is adapting well with the Bavarian side, enjoying a beer with his players, after he previously demonstrated that he speaks fluent German following his two seasons as a player at Hamburg.

The Belgian was accompanied by Kane, who had expressed his intention to ’embrace the German culture’ last summer but admitted that his kids are learning the new language quicker than he is.

When Laura Woods and Rio Ferdinand asked to demonstrate some of the phrases he had learned, the Englishman confessed that he was not ready yet and needed more time.

Also adapting to the new environment included summer signings Joao Palhinha and Michael Olise, who were seen posing during a photoshoot with Paulaner, Bayern’s partner that provides beer at the traditional festival.

The famous event is celebrated in honour of the wedding between Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen more than two centuries ago.

The festival is typically held for around two weeks, with six to seven million litres of beer consumed in Munich.

Oktoberfest 2024 begins on September 21 and ends on October 6.

Bayern Munich is expected to participate in the event, embracing this long-standing tradition.

Former loanee James Rodriguez previously spoke about the uniqueness of the event, stating: ‘It’s a bit strange for me, Oktoberfest is a mythical party, but I think it’s another culture and every day I learn a lot of things. They drink a lot of beer, like five litres.’
