Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman ‘highly rated by incoming Barcelona coach Xavi’

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is ‘highly rated by incoming Barcelona coach Xavi and German giants could look to sell the £46m-rated Frenchman next summer’

  • Former Barcelona captain Xavi is on the verge of taking the manager’s hotseat
  • The Catalans dispensed with the services of Ronald Koeman on Wednesday
  • Kingsley Coman has a contract at Bayern Munich until the summer of 2023
  • The Frenchman is no longer a regular and could look for pastures new next year

Incoming Barcelona coach Xavi is reportedly a big admirer of Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and could look to bring him to the Nou Camp next year.

Ex-Barca captain Xavi, 41, is on the verge of being named as Barcelona’s new manager after president Joan Laporta dispensed with the services of Ronald Koeman earlier this week following a loss to Rayo Vallecano.

Xavi is currently in charge of Qatari side Al Sadd but is set to move back to Catalonia and Spanish outlet SPORT report that Coman could be on his radar next year.

The 25-year-old has only started one game across the Bundesliga and Champions League this season

The 25-year-old has only started one game across the Bundesliga and Champions League this season under Julian Nagelsmann.

He has a contract at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2023 and the Germans could look to cash in on the Frenchman next year in order to avoid losing him on a free.

Coman is valued at £46m (€55) by Bayern and talks over an extension have stalled recently.

The winger scored the winner in the 2020 Champions League final against PSG and astonishingly has won a league title in every season he has been a professional, across the Parisians, Juventus and Bayern.

The news comes as Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling was reported as a target of Xavi’s too.

The England star has admitted in recent weeks that he wouldn’t be averse to playing abroad in the future.

The £100million arrival of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa has only further fuelled the belief that the 26-year-old could leave for a new challenge.
