Blake Lively was left starstruck on Sunday when she met her childhood idol Emma Bunton during an appearance on Heart Radio.

The actress, 36, confessed to ‘dressing up’ as Baby Spice ‘quite often,’ and asked the Spice Girl, 48, for a selfie.

During an appearance on Heart Sundays to promote her new film, It Ends with Us, Blake recalled how the girl group taught her to importance of ‘women showing up for each other.’

Joining Emma in the studio, she exclaimed: ‘I’m just such a big fan!’

‘So I must admit, I did see a picture of you once, did you dress up as me?’ Emma added.

Blake admitted: ‘Quite often!’

‘That was like my first experience with like, I was never and still not somebody who like wants to be famous.

‘I’m grateful for all the things that it brings me but like I’m a shy person.’

Emma replied: ‘I get that actually. I absolutely, I totally understand.’

‘Yeah I just was like, you know I can like be big when you know… But I went to your concert, I was ten, so I was tiny and blonde and I think they thought I was you,’ Blake continued.

‘And I got really excited. Can I ask a weird question? Can I take a picture of you wearing my necklace? Then my necklace is minted with you, like it’s actually been on you.’

Delighted, Emma exclaimed: ‘Absolutely!’

Showing an old photo of herself wearing the necklace the actress explained:’Is that weird? If you could have told me, I’m not even going to say ten year old self, if you could have told yesterday or this morning self. Because I’m wearing it here!’

Emma asked: ‘If we could do anything else in the world, apart from what we do in our lives what would you do?’

Blake laughed: ‘Can I not say be a Spice Girl? Am I like allowed to say that? Because that would be crazy. The outfits you wore, the way you guys expressed yourself. The bus. Where’s the bus?

‘Aside from all of that there’s the bubble gum and the candy of it all, but women showing up for each other.

‘I was raised in a time when the Spice Girls came to their power, women were always pit against each other. So it was like the first and longest example in my life hood of no no we can show up for each other.’

The Gossip Girl star is currently on the press tour for the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel by the same name.

It Ends With Us centres on Lively’s Lily, a flower shop owner who finds herself in the middle of a complicated love triangle between hunky neurosurgeon Ryle – Justin Baldoni, who also directs – and her hunky high school sweetheart, Atlas, played by Brandon Sklenar.

Joining Emma in the studio, Blake exclaimed: 'I¿m just such a big fan!'

But when Ryle’s violent outburst leads her to fear he may be an abusive partner, she turns to Atlas for help after they reconnect when she runs into him at a restaurant he works at.

The film is based on the best-selling romance novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, which was a hit with readers after it was published in 2016.

After being pushed back multiple times, the film’s release date was set for August 9 of this year.
