A damning Supreme Court judgement this week that the government had unlawfully prorogued Parliament threw into doubt whether the conference would go ahead.

Mr Johnson, who will be hoping to use the conference to rally his party’s grassroots ahead of a likely general election, will cap off the gathering with a speech on Wednesday
But, with Ms Symonds likely at his side, he will attend a slew of speeches and receptions over the four-day event.
Unlike many spouses of first-time leaders, Ms Symonds is a veteran of Conservative conference after attending in previous years in her former capacity of director of communications for the party.
