Brad Pitt reacts to Margot Robbie revealing unscripted kiss with him in Babylon

Brad Pitt has reacted to Margot Robbie revealing that she sprang an unscripted kiss on him while making their new movie Babylon.

Margot’s candid confession led to online debates about how the issue would be received if the sexes were reversed, particularly after the Me Too movement.

However Brad, 58, is relaxed about the subject, telling Entertainment Tonight: ‘There’s always room for character interpretation.’

The smoldering heartthrob added: ‘Believe me, that’s the tamest thing she does in this,’ gushing: ‘She’s on fire on this. It’s the best I’ve ever seen her.’

Directed by Damien Chazelle of La La Land fame, Babylon stars Brad and Margot as debauched movie stars in the Roaring Twenties.

The film is packed with wild, Dionysian parties and ribald behavior, largely involving Margot’s character, who is said to be inspired by the original ‘It girl’ Clara Bow.

Margot went viral at the start of the month when she divulged to E! News that she took matters into her own hands in order to kiss Brad in Babylon.

‘That wasn’t in the script. but I thought: “When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’m just gonna go for it,”‘ she spilled.

The duo were previously both in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, but they never actually acted together before Babylon.

Margot recalled: ‘I said: “Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack.” And Damien was like: “Well, she could – wait, hold on. You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt.”‘

She dished: ‘And I was like: “Oh, so sue me. This opportunity might never come up again.” And he was like: “It does work for the character,’ and I was like: “I think so.”‘

Kissing Brad ‘was just great,’ she said, and although the first take went well, the director ‘was like: “No, do it again. That really works.” I was like: “Oh, great.”‘

Offscreen, Margot is married to Tom Ackerley, with whom she co-founded her production company LuckyChap Entertainment.

Meanwhile Brad is said to be carrying on a private romance with Paul Wesley’s ex-wife Ines De Ramon, who at 29 is nearly three decades Brad’s junior.

Now the pair are said to have been side by side while hobnobbing with guests at the afterparty for the Babylon premiere this week.

A source told People that Brad and Ines, who have been involved but not exclusive ‘for a few months,’ were glimpsed with their arms around one another at the fete.

The alleged romance is unfolding against the backdrop of Brad’s rancorous ongoing custody battle against Angelina Jolie, with whom he has six children.

With a cast that includes Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Tobey Maguire and Li Jun Li, the movie is slated for theatrical release two days before Christmas.
