Brighton vs West Ham – Premier League LIVE: Roberto De Zerbi’s side look to keep up 100% record as Edson Alvarez makes his first start for Hammers

Welcome to our live blog for today’s Premier League clash between Brighton and West Ham at the Amex Stadium.

We’re gearing up for a huge clash between these two clubs, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side are hoping to secure their third straight victory at the start of the new season. In fact, should the Seagulls triumph today, it will be the first time they have achieved the feat for the first time since October 2018.

De Zerbi’s side have certainly got back to where they left off last season, finishing sixth in the Premier League in 2022-23, while securing European football for the first time.

Ahead of round three, Brighton come into this tie sitting joint top of the Premier League table, having secured two big wins against Luton (4-1) and Wolves (4-1) and could become only the fourth side in English top-flight history to score four or more goals in each of their opening three matches. The other sides to do so were Everton (1890-91), Sheffield Wednesday (1931-32) and Blackburn (1958-59).

They’ll take on West Ham today who are looking to secure back-to-back wins after David Moyes’ side defeated Chelsea last week 3-1 at the London Stadium.

Should they win today it will be the first time they’ve won consecutive games in the top-flight since October 2022, where they defeated both Wolves and Fulham.

Brighton come into this match as the favourites to win, with West Ham having not beaten the seagulls in their last 12 meetings, drawing six and losing six – but Moyes will be hoping to end that record

Starting line-ups will be coming very soon but let’s take a quick look at some of the big team news coming into this match…
