The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition and police say reports an officer was stabbed during the incident are incorrect.

Residents of the small weel-kept street told Daily Mail Australia they have ‘no idea what’s going on.

‘I heard it on the news and poked my head out and found the whole street blocked off,’ one woman said.

‘I didn’t hear the gunshots or anything – it is very concerning.’

According to News.com the incident occurred at a bus stop – with the man shouting ‘shoot me, shoot me’ at police.
