British Fashion Awards 2019: Holly Willoughby on the red carpet

It’s one of the biggest fashion nights of the year, where the red carpet is full of supermodels, style icons and designers making a sartorial statement.

And Rihanna made sure to lead the glamour as she joined Cate Blanchett and Julia Roberts at the star-studded British Fashion Awards 2019 in partnership with Swarovski at the historic Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London, on Monday night.

The superstar, 31, made an entrance in a strapless mint green satin mini dress and wrapped a matching sheer dress coat over her statuesque frame.

Upping the style ante, the singer wore a pair of complementing gloves and satin strappy heels. She sported a statement diamond choker around her neck and complementing diamond earrings.

The beauty mogul, who is nominated in the Urban Luxe category, worked her raven-coloured hair into long braids as she posed for photos with ASAP Rocky.

Meanwhile, Blue Jasmine actress Cate, 50, looked exquisite in the shimmering ivory tulle Armani Privé dress that was sure to make an impact on the red carpet.

The Australian beauty’s look featured voluminous tulle ruffling around the neckline and accentuated her narrow waist with a thick satin belt.

She complemented her breathtaking fashion choice with a pair of striking diamond drop-earrings while her platinum blonde locks were styled off her face.

Following her style lead, Julia Roberts, 50, complemented Cate’s stunning look with an equally fashion forward black jumpsuit with crystal embellishment.

Getting the monochrome memo, Rita Ora turned up to the glitzy ceremony in a 16Arlington bespoke black and white panelled leather gown and dramatic blue make-up.

The dress was a floor-length affair, with a Bardot neckline and a matching choker. She added sharp white heels to the outfit, sweeping her mane back from her features to showcase her striking make-up to its full potential.

The Lonely Together songstress boasted a bronzed complexion which she painted with sparkling turquoise eye make-up and dark pink lipstick.

Her eye make-up glistened in the bright lights of the red carpet, painted in dramatic zig-zags for extra pizzazz.

Elsewhere, This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby looked sensational in a purple and blue floral midi dress, which boasted ruching across the shoulders and torso.

The 38-year-old TV darling teamed the look with a pair of nude sandals and a bold red lip while her trademark blonde locks were worked into a tousled wave.

Meanwhile, pregnant Millie Mackintosh, 30, looked radiant as she donned a mint green Emilia Wickstead midi dress as she walked up the dramatic red carpet for a night celebrating fashion.

The fashionista, who was catapulted into the limelight on E4 series Made In Chelsea, accentuated her growing bump in the balloon sleeved look and complemented it with a pair of statement black stilettos with a metallic accent across the foot.

Continuing her style statement, she worked her brunette coif off her face into a sleek look and teamed her ensemble with a pair of diamond and green stoned drop-earrings.

Millie confirmed in recent weeks she is expecting a girl due in May 2020 with husband Hugo Taylor and said last month that she was craving ‘beige food’ throughout her first trimester and was missing exercise.

She said: ‘I’m starting to miss exercise. Normally I would do five sessions of weight training a week and HIIT (high intensity interval training) classes. But in the first 12 weeks, I’ve been told to keep to gentle exercise like walking or swimming.

‘You have to listen to your body. At six weeks, all I wanted to eat was beige food. The nausea made me crave toast and pasta.

‘I’ve enjoyed it, but now I’m craving fruit and vegetables so I’ve gone back to eating normally.’ Millie revealed her pregnancy news to Hello! and spoke of her joy.

She said: ‘Hearing her heartbeat for the first time with Hugo by my side was one of the most amazing moments of my life so far. I feel very lucky. I can’t wait to feel that bond and for her to sleep on my chest and breathe in that baby smell.’

She added: ‘I’m so excited it’s a girl. I would’ve been delighted with either, but when I found out we were having a girl, I suddenly realised this is what I really wanted.’

Back at the awards, Stella, 29, made sure to command attention as she stunned in a daring semi-sheer black gown with spaghetti straps and a thigh-high slit.

The model’s plunging look boasted a mixed paisley-print number that boasted ruffle detailing and a low black silhouette.
