Brits horrified after American presenter makes ‘fried’ eggs for her boyfriend in the microwave

US TV presenter horrifies British social media users by MICROWAVING eggs and claiming it’s the ‘American version of frying’

  • American Alex Murphy, 34, who lives in London, filmed cooking ‘fried’ egg bagel
  • The dish, for her boyfriend Paul Klein, 30, required usual cooking technique
  • Alex cracked the eggs into a bowl, and microwaved them with cheese on top
  • Brits were horrified by the video, and said the eggs ‘looked like rubber’

A US television presenter has gone viral sharing a video of how she makes the ‘American way’ – cooking the whole dish in a microwave – with viewers branding the dish ‘horrible’.

Alex Murphy, 34, from Boston, lives with her boyfriend, Paul Klein, 30, in London.

In a bid to whip up a delicious breakfast, she decided to serve a simple dish of fried eggs on a bagel – but the cooking method has left people in shock.

The clip uploaded on Facebook, which has racked up 1.7 million views and hundreds of likes, shows Alex cracking two eggs into a dish, before seasoning them with salt and pepper.

Although Paul did not seem too unhappy with the meal, some people took to the video to say they would not be able to eat it

All seems pretty normal, until she pops the bowl into the microwave for one minute.

Surprisingly, the eggs appear cooked through and she finishes off the dish with a slice of cheese on top.

She proceeds to blitz the meal one more time, before scraping the eggs out of the bowl and placing them on a toasted bagel.

Alex, who previously appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2020, said: ‘I have to be honest, this isn’t how you normally prepare eggs in the UK,’ before presenting them to her partner.

While he didn’t seem to mind the final result, many Brits have been left horrified by the strange ‘American’ technique.

One person said: ‘Does she micro the chicken for dinner too?’ [sic]

‘If they had been cooked in a pan, they’d be eaten already,’ another user added.

Someone else commented: ‘It looks like rubber – I’ve seen many Americans cook and I have to say they do a much better job than you’re doing here.’

‘No thank you, don’t know what’s worse microwave eggs or microwave tea?’ added another person.

Another viewer said: ‘Sorry but looked horrible I couldn’t eat it and I love eggs.’

Alex's boyfriend Paul looked slightly apprehensive as he bit into the sandwich

This isn’t the first time that Alex has gone viral with her American take on British cuisine.

Earlier this year, a viral video of her making a cuppa in the microwaves sent the country into a meltdown.

Her boyfriend’s hilarious reaction to the abomination which was made with cold water left Brit’s in hysterics after he threw the mug onto the floor.
