Former MLB player Dustan Mohr has been sentenced to nine years in an Indiana jail after pleading guilty to multiple sex crimes against a 13-year-old girl.
Mohr was accused of sexually fondling his victim – who he was hired to give softball lessons to – a number of times over a six-month period.
The 47-year-old played for the Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Devil Rays during his baseball career.
According to local news outlet WANE 15, Mohr was left in tears in court and apologized to the victim and her family.
Superior Court Judge Fran Gull sentenced Mohr to five years for each of the three felonies – child solicitation for sexual intercourse, child seduction and sexual misconduct with a minor.

The 15-year sentence was partially suspended but he will serve three years in prison for each count and the rest of the time on adult probation.
Mohr was hired by the family to give their daughter softball lessons at Strike Zone Training Center in Fort Wayne. However, he began to turn her against her family and severely damage her confidence.
After six months of training, the victim’s father found his daughter at Mohr’s home.
She told investigators that Mohr touched her in a sexual manner during their softball sessions and they had shared private digital images with each other.
Mohr was also said to have touched her while they were in his vehicle and he even gave her a new phone so they could be in contact.
The victim’s father also revealed in court that Mohr managed to shut down the parental controls on her phone. He said he was able to track her down and rescue her from rape just before her 14th birthday.
Mohr was drafted by the former California Angels in 1994 and played in MLB for seven years.
It’s claimed he arrived in Fort Wayne in 2009 to be close to his two daughters and their mother. He previously volunteered at Northrop High School as first base coach but only for one season.
