Brittany Hockley is left heartbroken after flight to see boyfriend Benjamin Siegrist is cancelled: ‘Long distance is so hard’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Brittany Hockley shared a heartbreaking update on Thursday, revealing that she and her boyfriend Benjamin Siegrist won’t be seeing each other until June.

The podcast host, 36, took to Instagram to express her disappointment after her flight to Scotland from South Africa was cancelled. 

‘Right now I was supposed to be in Scotland, surprising Ben for a short 2 days on my way home from the jungle. It cost me a lot, was a lot of organising and planning and a lot of flying time across the world to be able to see him and my sister for 48 hours,’ she wrote.

Brittany explained that she sat on the plane and the tarmac for 7 hours until 1:30 am before they announced the cancellation of her flight. 

‘I couldn’t get another flight out,’ she added. 

The media personality revealed that it has been three months since she last saw Ben and won’t expect to see him for another two. 

‘I cried more than I have in a long time. It’s been a hard few days. Long distance is so hard anyway. But on top of a month in the jungle in a very emotional and stressful environment and with no contact with anyone, it would have been worth it for just one hug,’ she admitted.

The pair met in November 2022 on the celebrity dating app Raya and at the time, the goalkeeper’s soccer team, the Glasgow-based Celtic FC, was playing in Australia against Sydney FC.

And the 36-year-old beauty opened up about her struggles with fertility during an episode of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here this month.

Brittany appeared emotional as she talked about her chances of starting a family with her beau.

‘Different peoples fertility deteriorates at different rates,’ Brittany said before dropping the bombshell: ‘Mines not great.’

She also discussed her decision to freeze embryos last year with Benjamin, after earlier deciding to freeze some of her eggs.

She continued: ‘And then when Ben and I met and we decided we wanted to be together we thought, ”We know we have a better chance of having kids if we froze embryos”‘. 

‘It’s a weight off my shoulders in a sense but it’s something I think about all the time.’

Elsewhere in the chat she admitted that sometimes she ‘talks herself out of’ having children.
