Brynne Edelsten reveals her baby daughter’s very glitzy name

Brynne Edelsten welcomed her ‘miracle baby’ on April 21.

And the American-born socialite, 39, has now revealed her daughter’s suitably glitzy name: Starr Amari Gordon.

She also told New Idea she’d chosen to give her baby girl the surname Gordon – her maiden name – so she would ‘feel connected’ to her family in the U.S.

Brynne adopted the last name Edelsten when she married late Australian businessman Geoffrey Edelsten in 2009, and while she kept the name after their divorce, she did not think it was appropriate to pass it on to her daughter.

The identity of Starr’s father has not been made public; however, Brynne confirmed to the publication the man had met his daughter twice.

‘I haven’t had a good night’s sleep since Starr arrived,’ Brynne said of motherhood.

‘But I wouldn’t trade being a mum for anything – I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.’

The pregnancy was delightful news for Brynne, who discovered during her high-profile marriage to Geoffrey it was unlikely she could ever conceive naturally.

‘I didn’t think I had any maternal instinct,’ she told New Idea.

‘Even while pregnant, I couldn’t quite believe it was happening, but as soon as she arrived, we bonded and it all felt very natural.’

Brynne announced she was pregnant in December. 

Sharing a photo of her ultrasound on Instagram, she wrote: ‘Miracles do happen AND each is another day closer to meeting the love of my life.’

Brynne previously revealed she planned to raise her baby alone.

‘There’s no man in the picture,’ she said.

‘I told the father, though. I would never keep the father of my child apart – I don’t think that’s ever going to be something that happens.’

Brynne was famously married to medical entrepreneur Geoffrey Edelsten from 2009 to 2014. Edelsten died aged 78 last June.
