High school horror as a teenage girl is stabbed in the playground by a boy, 18

A teenage girl has been stabbed at a school near Cairns with a 18-year-old boy taken into custody.

Queensland Police rushed to Peace Lutheran College in Kamerunga, north-west of the city, about 10.35am on Tuesday. 

The girl was rushed to hospital in a serious condition. 

The pair are believed to be known to each other. 

Police investigations are continuing.
