Celebrity accountant Anthony Bell make jaw-dropping profit on breath-taking clifftop mansion

Celebrity accountant Anthony Bell has made a profit in the millions after selling the luxury Sydney mansion he purchased from Larry Emdur in 2017.

Bell, 52, recently sold the property in the ritzy suburb of Dover Heights for a jaw-dropping $21million, almost double the $11.5m he paid for it seven years ago.

The mouth-watering sum he received from the sale smashes the record for the highest amount paid for a property in the affluent beachside suburb.

The extravagant property sits on a 1000sqm block of land and features exquisite architecture, stunning walls of glass and a large outdoor pool.

On Friday, a caveat on the property title revealed the enormous sum Bell received for the 30-metre ocean-front estate.

Meanwhile, Bell is rumoured to have purchased a luxury apartment in the nearby suburb of Rose Bay, for $9,657,000, as an investment property, reports Realestate.com.au.

In 2017, it was reported that Bell paid a record $11.5million for Emdur’s former home.

The deal was easily the biggest ever for a house in the sought-after Sydney beachside suburb, home to many well-heeled socialites.

Bell’s purchase smashed the $9.5 million paid in 2014 for a similar mansion by South African tech investor Kevin Bermeister and his wife Beverley.

Real estate figures called it an offer ‘too good to refuse’, despite the eight-figure asking price that was eventually revealed though the public paperwork.

Emdur, a good friend of Mr Bell, made a tidy $4.7million profit in just six years, having bought the house overlooking the ocean for $6.8million in 2011.

He and his wife Sylvie got a drastic change of scenery by moving into a $3million apartment in The Rocks, converted from a heritage-listed Cadbury depot.

It isn’t the first time time Bell has chosen within his celebrity friend group when looking to strike up a property deal.

The millionaire financier bid on a Bellevue Hill apartment on behalf of Emdur in June 2017, however wasn’t successful after he was outbid when the home went for around $1 million more than expected.

Bell sold his Bondi Beach bachelor pad for $6m to cricketer Michael Clarke in 2009.
