Chloe Madeley on Emma Stone, Tom Hanks and her husband James Haskell

QUICKFIRE: Health and fitness guru Chloe Madeley on men, movie stars and a make-or-break moment

Where is home? A cottage-style house in the middle of a field in Northamptonshire. But to me, home is anywhere that my husband [rugby international James Haskell] is.

Guilty pleasure? Chocolate is my downfall. I’m a big fan of Lindt.

Career plan B? I’ve always loved cooking, so maybe a chef or baker. I make a very good victoria sponge.

Who would play you in a movie of your life? I would love it to be somebody funny and interesting such as Emma Stone, but it’s more likely to be a soap star!

Dream dinner-party guests? Dolly Parton, F Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda, Jack Kerouac – his books saw me through my adolescence – and Emma Stone

Biggest bugbear? Dishonesty.

As a child you wanted to… Have my own ice-cream van.

Secret to a happy relationship? Allowing each other to be independent – something I wasn’t always good at in past relationships.

Your best quality? Compassion.

And your worst? I’m horribly impatient, which doesn’t make me look good on occasion.

One thing that would make life better? The invention of a calorie-free pizza.

Dream dinner-party guests? Dolly Parton, F Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda, Jack Kerouac – his books saw me through my adolescence – and Emma Stone. I have a tattoo of a Kerouac quote, ‘Desirous of everything’, from On the Road.

Advice to teenage self? It can take a while to figure out who and how you want to be.

Starstruck moment? Meeting Tom Hanks when he appeared on my parents’ [Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan] Channel 4 show.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? A little girl – I don’t feel as though I ever grew up.

Career highlight? Hearing that my first book, The 4-Week Body Blitz, was in the official bestseller list.

Big break? An ex-boyfriend showing me how to do an Olympic lift in the weights section of the gym. I know it sounds ridiculous but my whole life changed in a minute.

Favourite tipple? Full-bodied reds such as châteauneuf-du-pape and crozes-hermitage. James and I love going on wine-tasting weekends.

Hangover cure? Paracetamol.

What did you have for breakfast today? Proats – a porridge made of oats and protein powder.

Top of your bucket list? To travel the world with James for at least a year when he retires from rugby.

Biggest lesson you’ve learnt about money? Don’t invest in anything other than property.

Biggest lesson you’ve learnt about men? Men and women are very different animals – the sooner you accept it, the easier your relationship with men will become.

Where would you time-travel to? A 1920s speakeasy in my best flapper gear to drink with glamorous people.

First record you bought? The first I was given was Simon & Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits.

Philosophy? Life is short so don’t pass up opportunities to enjoy it, even if it means giving up your responsibilities for a day.

Best present you ever received? My art deco diamond engagement ring, which James designed.

Biggest fear? Dying alone. I want a big family to see me off.

Happiness is… Waking up next to someone you love after a long, warm sleep.
