Chris Hemsworth places a passionate kiss on longtime friend Ed Sheeran’s forehead as Thor star makes his Met Gala debut

Chris Hemsworth mingled with the fashion and celebrity elite as he made his Met Gala debut on Monday.

The Hollywood actor, 40, co-chaired the star-studded New York City event alongside Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Zendaya.

And Hemsworth was spotted socialising alongside pals Ed Sheeran and fellow Aussie actor Hugh Jackman.

In one moment, the Thor star got up close and personal with his long-term pal Sheeran, even sharing a smooch with the singer.

He was also photographed sharing a laugh with fellow co-chair Bad Bunny who wore a custom Maison Margiela at the fashion event of the year.

Hemsworth was joined at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute by his wife Elsa Pataky, 47. 

Showcasing his muscular chest, the Hollywod hunk sported a three-piece-suit by Tom Ford worn slightly unbuttoned. 

The Australian actor, who was styled by Samantha McMillen, completed his look with a cream-coloured shirt, gold watch, coordinating rings and shiny black loafers.

His spouse, who appeared to be channelling a modern Rapunzel, stunned in a shimmery gold gown with a mock turtleneck, complete with gold cuffs on each wrist.

She wore her long golden locks in a braided hairstyle with a stunning custom gold Jennifer Behr flower crown that matched her floor-length frock.

The duo looked happy in love as they posed for photos with their arms wrapped around each other and exchanged a kiss on top of the Met Gala steps.

The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition falls on the first Monday in May every year and is held at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year the event is titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion while the dress code is The Garden of Time.
