Chrissie Swan has revealed her top tip for fitness after losing 90 kilos.

The radio and television personality appeared on The Project on Monday and explained the unusual arm motions she makes while power walking with hand weights.

‘I have added an extra degree of difficulty and I’ve bought some arm weights. Because I’m a sucker for punishment,’ the 49-year-old said.

‘It is very embarrassing, I don’t care what people think of me, but I walk like this…’ she described before flailing her arms.

‘And it becomes very heavy. I am walking for two hours a day so the arms are a bit sore.’

Chrissie went on to explain that she once hated working out but then she discovered how much she enjoyed walking.

‘I never exercised. Hated sport growing up, just wasn’t interested. I thought, “Well, that’s not for me. I will never find anything I enjoy,”‘ she explained.

‘Then I started walking one day and I haven’t stopped. The biggest tip is: Don’t worry about what people think about what you look like, put your runners on first thing and then do that every single day, regardless of what you are wearing.

‘Like, today I had a suit on and my walking shoes because I don’t care. I need to get those kilometres or I will embarrass myself in front of the entire nation.’

Chrissie recently revealed she feels like ‘a different person’ after losing half her body weight during the Covid pandemic.

She has drastically transformed her physique over the last year, citing a new diet, daily walks and sobriety as the secret behind her slimdown.

After dropping a reported 90kg since the start of lockdowns, she briefly touched on her weight loss in an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly last year.

She said the ‘enormous’ lifestyle changes she’d made over the previous 12 months had improved her life in so many ways.

‘I’m not going to talk about the size of my a**e,’ she said.

‘I’m not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I’ve read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself.’

However, she did confirm Melbourne’s lengthy Covid lockdown was the catalyst for her health and fitness kick.

‘We couldn’t go out to dinner, we couldn’t go to a friend’s house, they couldn’t come to us, we couldn’t go outside five kilometres,’ she said.

‘All we could do was walk, and so that’s what I did.’

In another interview with The Herald Sun, Chrissie said she felt amazing and had never been happier as she approached 50.

‘I have never been happier or more centred. It is actually great and I don’t think you can feel that way until you have done the years. I wouldn’t be 20 for quids,’ she said.
