Coldplay’s Chris Martin puts on an energetic display as the band performs at Wembley Stadium

Chris Martin seemed in high spirits as he danced along the stage while performing with his hit band Coldplay on Friday night at Wembley Stadium.

The band’s frontman, 45, performed for the huge crowd who attended his Music Of The Spheres World Tour as the London stadium was filled with colour and strobe lights.

The pop star cut a casual figure in a black denim jacket with bright patches on over a simple grey T-shirt.

Chris opted for a pair of black trousers as he ran around the catwalk stage in a pair of matching trainers with eye catching neon laces.

The star was seen leaping about the stage as he sung the band’s hits before later taking to a black piano to perform.

Chris was joined on stage by guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion.

Prior to Coldplay taking to the stage Giff supported the stars donning a purple ensemble.

The 21-year-old R&B star seemed in high spirits as she warmed up the crowd in the London stadium.

It comes after Chris recently revealed he wants to become a Broadway star.

The Paradise hitmaker has previously claimed Coldplay will stop making records in 2025 and he has his eye on his next career move as he dreams of starring in a stage version of Disney’s Mary Poppins.

He told Somerset Live: ‘I have this distant dream of being in Mary Poppins on Broadway or something, but that’s a long way off.’

The Grammy winner – who is father to Apple, 18, and Moses, 16, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow – has previously had cameo roles in Modern Family and Curb Your Enthusiasm, but he admits he’s not much of an actor at present so some lessons are required.

He said: ‘Modern Family was my daughter’s favourite show at the time and we bonded over that show.

‘And Curb Your Enthusiasm is Curb Your Enthusiasm so how could you ever say no to that.

‘I’m not an actor clearly I’m good for a cameo or two here and there.’

Chris began dating Dakota Johnson in 2017 and last month revealed how his girlfriend helped him improve his Coldplay concerts for hearing-impaired audience members.

He told CBS Mornings that Dakota gifted him a SUBPAC, a vest that allows wearers to physically feel the impact of sounds in case they cannot hear them.

The rock star took the idea and ran with it, deciding to hand out SUBPACs to deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members at Coldplay shows.

Dakota herself appears to have gotten the notion from Billie Eilish’s brother and co-writer Finneas O’Connell, whom Chris mistakenly referred to as ‘Finneas Eilish.’

‘My partner, she said: “I got you a Christmas present of a SUBPAC,”‘ Chris dished while appearing on CBS Mornings this week.

‘She said it’s like what Finneas Eilish wears onstage when he’s with Billie, and it vibrates, so it’s useful for someone like Finneas to hear where the one is on the bass drum,’ the heartthrob continued.

In addition to distributing the SUBPACs to those who need them, the concerts also provide sign language interpreters for the hearing-impaired.

‘We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private,’ she explained to Elle UK last year. ‘Most of the partying takes place inside my house.’
