A witness told the Daily Telegraph the impact was so loud he could hear the crash from a distance.

‘Our office is across the street and we hear this huge bang and crash of glass breaking that reverberated through the whole building,’ Gary Brown said.

‘She’s just missed going through the doors of Liquorland – it’s amazing nobody got hit – there were a lot of people around,’ he added.

Mr Brown said Coles staff quickly arrived to help the driver as well as to make sure others weren’t injured by the falling glass.

Police later arrived and blocked off the scene and the smashed car was eventually towed.

Neither the woman nor pedestrians were injured in the accident.
