While busy with her upcoming memoir, she has also been spending time with her husband J. Long, a Christian singer, who she married behind bars while serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in prison.

They confirmed the relationship a day after Brown Long walked out of prison.

Last month she told NBC News: ‘I am loving every single thing about being in my own home.’

Small things like getting manicures, deciding how she spends her time and cooking are bringing joy to the Tennessee woman.

‘Being able to cook for myself and decide how I want to spend my day feels amazing’, she told NBC News.

‘Those simple pleasures that people take for granted are what I looked forward to when I sat in prison dreaming of freedom.’

Brown Long, who spent 15 years in prison, was 16 years old when she was accused of killing 43-year-old real estate agent Johnny Mitchell Allen.

At the time, Brown Long said she was a sex-trafficking victim under a pimp named ‘Kut Throat’ who forced her into prostitution.

Brown Long allegedly shot Allen because she thought he was reaching for a gun while in a bedroom in his home.

Prosecutors argued that Brown Long was not defending herself, but was attempting to rob Allen.

She was tried as an adult, convicted of first-degree murder and given life in prison.

She would be 69-years-old by the time she would be eligible for parole.

Her story was the basis for the 2011 documentary, ‘Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story’ that caught the eye of activist groups and celebrities like Kim Kardashian West.

Brown long was released from prison in August after Governor Bill Haslam granted her clemency.

She will remain on parole for 10 years, but is thankful.

Brown Long said: ‘One of the best moments was the night I celebrated my release with my whole family and everyone who’d made a difference in my life over the last 15 years’, according to NBC News.

‘Looking around and seeing how everything had come together, and how everyone was fellow-shipping and happy, was just incredible,’ she said.

‘I wasn’t presenting myself as a 16-year-old heading to prison and needing help. I was a grown woman with my calling from God. This was my coming out party.’

Cyntoia will be speaking in public about her memoir at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, October 15.
