Alongside the arrivals of both Beckham and Neville, photographers were also on hand to capture the moment that Andy Robertson and Steve Bruce reunited.

The Liverpool defender enjoyed the early stages of his career under the guidance of Bruce, who spent four years as Robertson’s boss at Hull City.

According to The Sun, Sir Alex followed his late wife’s coffin out of the cathedral before shaking his hands with Canon Andrew McKenzie who conducted the service.

The outlet also claim that Beckham was pictured alongside other mourners outside on the pavement by the St Andrew’s Cathedral.

It was confirmed on October 6th that Lady Cathy had passed away on at the age of 84, with the club releasing an emotional statement regarding the news.

‘Everyone at Manchester United sends our heartfelt condolences to Sir Alex Ferguson and his family on the passing of Lady Cathy,’ a Man United statement read.

‘Lady Cathy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a tower of strength for Sir Alex throughout his career.’

Man United’s men’s team wore black armbands during their Premier League match with Brentford at the start of the month.

The women’s team also wore black armbands for their WSL match against Arsenal this month.

Lady Cathy had been by her husband’s side as he became one of the greatest manager’s in football history, winning 49 trophies.

At Manchester United alone he won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and lifted the Champions League on two occasions.

In 2002, Lady Cathy had been instrumental in convincing Ferguson to reverse his decision to retire at that point.

He went on to manage the club for a further 11 years before eventually calling time after the death of Cathy’s sister.
