His Kyle and Jackie O Show has been number one on the airwaves for years, making him a very rich man.
But despite his down-to-earth ‘everyman’ persona, Kyle Sandilands, 48, has some particular views when it comes thongs, Australia’s casual footwear icon.
Kyle and his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 44, were playing a word association game, hosted by KIIS FM’s Intern Pete, when the shock jock expressed his disgust about the shoes on Friday.

When Pete asked, ‘What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear, “thongs”‘, Kyle said: ‘Yuck. Disgusting. You mean the ones you wear on your feet?’
When Pete answered yes, Kyle spat: ‘Would never wear them. They’re welfare shoes.’
Kyle’s remarks are bound to surprise some fans, who consider the radio star to be something of a larrikin, given his brash on-air manner and often colourful language.

‘King’ Kyle’s remarks come just days after it was revealed he is purchasing a new $1.3 million Rolls Royce.
On Monday, the KIIS FM star was seen cruising around Sydney in the luxurious vehicle, reportedly on loan from a Rolls Royce dealer in Sydney.
But it’s not Kyle’s first flashy car.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the radio star has a collection of 10 luxurious vehicles, including a number of European sports cars.
Starting off his collection is his Ferrari 458 Italia, which has been spotted at his home in St. Ives on several occasions.
The vehicle goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.

Kyle opted for the Italian-made vehicle in red with tan leather trim, with a base model starting at $117,540 to $397,240.
The KIIS FM star also shelled out for a pricey Lamborghini Aventador, with a base model sitting at an estimated $111,000. The coupe goes for $700,000 plus.
And Kyle doesn’t just love European sports cars, he also has a more humble whip to get him to and from the KIIS FM studios in Sydney.

The star and his model girlfriend Imogen Anthony, 28, are regularly spotted in their black Range Rover SVR, which retails for more than $100k.
And the radio star’s love affair with expensive cars doesn’t end there – he’s also in possession of a vintage Mustang.
Kyle also reportedly owns a Bentley Mulsanne and a Polaris off-road ATV.
The radio star’s recent purchase comes after he previously gave an older Rolls Royce model to Imogen.
