At halftime of Sunday Night Football, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel decided to have a little fun while his team held a comfortable lead.

With the Dolphins up 17-3 over the New England Patriots, McDaniel did his typical head coach at halftime interview with NBC.

But as he was heading to the locker room, McDaniel turned towards the camera following him to the tunnel.

McDaniel then decided to turn on the jets – sprinting to the locker room and leaving the camera man in the dust.

The head coach had a distinct advantage – he was ahead when the ‘race’ began and he wasn’t carrying a camera on his shoulders, unlike his counterpart.

But it seemed to be all fun and games for the coach, whose team would go on to down the Patriots in a 24-17 nail-biter.

New England had the ball late in the game and could have gone on to tie it, but their last ditch effort to convert a 4th and 4 was foiled.

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones completed a pass to tight end Mike Gesicki – who then lateralled the ball to offensive lineman Cole Strange.

After being initially called as a first down, the replay official overturned the call and the game was essentially over.

The Patriots will now travel to take on the New York Jets while the Dolphins will host the Denver Broncos.
