A bus driver lost control of a double-decker in south London and ploughed into a home on Boxing Day.  

The 118 bus to Brixton crashed through a fence and then smashed into the front of the two-storey house in Streatham Vale before coming to rest in the front garden.

Following the crash, police and paramedics rushed to the scene and the road was cordoned off in both directions.

Three people suffered minor injuries, one of whom was taken to hospital. 

Pictures taken today show  debris strewn all over the front of the property.

It remains unclear what caused the crash, but a neighbour said on Twitter a car ‘collided with the bus’.

He said: ‘Have not been on site since 11:30pm of last night, at which point there was an extraction vehicle for I believe the car that had collided with the bus originally, owner of the car was also standing by wearing a heat blanket but otherwise seemingly okay.’

Images posted on social media show damage to property and cars while debris can also be seen in the street.

There were no reports of any serious injuries, Scotland Yard told the Evening Standard.

A spokesman added that there had been no arrests and enquiries into the circumstances were ongoing
