EastEnders SPOILER: Will Sharon Watts tell Phil Mitchell that toddler Albie Watts is his son – not Keanu Taylor’s?

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) thought Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) was the father of her son Albie Watts (Arthur Gentleman).

But in a shock twist in EastEnders this week, Sharon learned that ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is the father of her toddler.

Albie, three, has a genetic condition which can only be passed on if both parents have it – and Keanu did not.

Sharon was married to Phil at the time of Albie’s conception and though he has not been tested, it is presumed that he is the father.

In the coming episodes, will Sharon reveal the truth, devastating Keanu, or will she keep her huge secret to herself?

A scene from one of next week’s episodes has been released, showing Sharon and Phil engaged in a tense conversation in Phil’s office at Peggy’s wine bar.

The synopsis reads: ‘Sharon makes a tough call about her future after discovering that Phil is Albie’s biological father.’ This could be the moment that Sharon tells all.

Phil is not expected to react well to the news, given he is married to Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) with whom he has already had is fair share of issues.

He and Sharon were married from 2014 to 2020, and Sharon has been open about wanting him back since, so a baby may spell the end of Phil and Kat’s relationship.

Especially when Kat finds out that Phil cheated on her back in September with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) – the mother of Phil’s adopted son Jay Mitchell’s dead wife.

Phil and Sharon kissed on the day of his wedding to Kat in 2022. The wedding was postponed, giving Sharon hope that she and Phil would reunite, but he chose to stay with Kat, marrying her in 2023.

The specific condition Albie has is AADT (Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency) which can mean ‘a predisposition to liver and lung disease later in life’.

Keanu left EastEnders in February 2020 when his affair with Sharon was discovered Phil threatened him with his life. He returned in December 2022.

Initially, Sharon was frosty with him, rebuffing his numerous advances, but they eventually resume their relationship and even get engaged.

They break up when Sharon learns that Keanu had a fling with her former sister-in-law Sam Mitchell, and then Chelsea Fox, but reconcile.

They split for a final time when Keanu discovers that Sharon helped his daughter leave The Square with her grandma.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and each episode can be seen from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
