Shocking moment suspect walks up to an elderly man, 81, and randomly punches him in the face on a New York street

- Police said there was no interaction between the two men before the punch

Police are hunting for a man who randomly attacked an 81-year-old man as he walked along a New York City street.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect running up behind the elderly man at just after 11pm on July 15 in Bronx’s Melrose neighborhood.
Without any warning, he punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground right in front of Mt Bethel Baptist Church, Courtlandt Ave, Pix11 reports.

Without any warning, he punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground right
The attacker then fled, north on Courtlandt Avenue.
Police said there was no interaction between the victim and his attacker before the punch.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for pain and bruising to the face. He has since been released.
Police described the suspect as wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black and white sneakers.
The attack occurred right in front of Mt Bethel Baptist Church, Courtlandt Ave
