Erin Molan returns to NRL Footy Show after giving birth

She’s the popular host of the NRL Footy Show who welcomed her first child, Eliza, in June.

And Erin Molan, 35, made a triumphant return to her hosting role on Thursday night, albeit with a considerable lack of sleep.

Erin received a hero’s welcome from the studio audience as she was introduced as the ‘newly minted mum.’

Tired: Erin Molan, 35, made a triumphant return to her NRL Footy show role Thursday night, albeit with a considerable lack of sleep after giving birth to baby Eliza in June

Sitting down with panelists Ryan Girdler, Darren Lockyer and Willie Mason, Erin admitted she quickly learned a lesson every new mum has drummed into them from day one.

‘Now, I haven’t slept for six weeks so please be kind,’ she pleased. ‘Apparently that’s what happens when you have a child – you don’t sleep ever. So, if I’m not as sharp or as polished as usual, please be kind and be gentle.’

She added: ‘I’m sure my friends on social media will let me know if i stuff anything up.’

As images of mum and bub flashed on the screen behind the panel, Erin continued to gush about Eliza as Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely played over the adorable snaps.

‘It’s wonderful – it’s nothing like I thought it would be,’ she said of motherhood. ‘As I said, you don’t sleep much, which is intense, but she is the most perfect beautiful little thing in the whole wide world.’

Erin took to Instagram on Monday to share an image of her first day back at work.

She looked in her element as she stood in front of the camera reporting from a rugby league ground.

Captioning the post, Erin said that it was difficult to tear herself away from her precious newborn.

‘First day back at work,’ she wrote. ‘I was a bit nervous and missed my girl terribly but felt great to get back into things too with wonderful supportive colleagues.

She added: ‘Like every mum out there, this balancing act will be a work in progress.’

Erin shares baby Eliza with her fiance Sean Ogilvy with the host announcing the engagement back in April 2017 on the Footy Show.
