Fans mistake Glen Powell for TOM CRUISE after his shock goofball transformation for Chad Powers show

Glen Powell’s wild transformation for the new satirical series Chad Powers has sent fans into a spin – with some mistaking him for Tom Cruise.

Hulu released an official image of the actor from the upcoming comedy show on Thursday, a day after DailyMail.com shared sneak peek images of the unrecognizable star on set.

A joint post with Glen, ESPN, Hulu, and Omaha Productions, included the caption: ‘Think fast, run fast. Glen Powell is #ChadPowers in Hulu’s new comedy series.’

Powell is co-creator of the upcoming half-hour comedy series, along with Michael Waldron.

It spurred from an ESPN+ sketch created by former football star Eli Manning, 43, and he will executive produce the show with Glen and Michael.

An official synopsis for the comedy reads: ‘When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.’

It comes after Glen was spotted on set earlier this week in a straggly, blonde wig and large, prosthetic nose.

He also wore a mustache as filming kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Hollywood hunk played down his looks as he sported a short-sleeved blue Nike athletic shirt, arm band, and yellow shorts.

The show is being directed by Tony Yacenda and also stars Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Perry Mattfeld, Frankie A. Rodriguez and Steve Zahn.

Per Variety, Powell and Waldron expressed in a joint statement earlier this year, ‘We’re both diehard college football fans.

‘When we saw Eli as Chad Powers, we knew that was the way into a big, fun story about this world.

‘We’re excited to be part of this team, and can’t wait to get Chad in the game. Think fast, run fast.’

Eli, who is a former New York Giants quarterback, shared, ‘The love for Chad Powers has surprised me in spectacular ways.

‘I played 16 years in the NFL, but now when I’m in a restaurant or walking through an airport, it’s not uncommon for fans to scream, “Hey Chad!”‘

He added, ‘I’m so excited to team up with my friends Glen Powell, Michael Waldron and Omaha Productions to continue to tell the Chad Powers story and see what he does next.’

Eli portrayed Powers in the skit, which was also uploaded to YouTube through Omaha Productions and currently has over eight million views.
