The pop singer dubbed the ‘Japanese Madonna’ has left fans upset and panicked after all traces of her vanished offline. 

Namie Amuro, 46, is a huge star in Japan with a career spanning over 30 years, with 12 albums, 40 million record sales and 10 number one singles.   

She announced that she was retiring from music back in 2017 after completing her final tour the following year. 

However in recent months, not only has Namie dropped out of the public eye, so has all her work. 

Fans have noted that the singer’s social media has all been deleted, including her Facebook page and fan page.

Scores of admirers posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, revealing they could no longer access her songs on Spotify or Apple Music. 

Likewise, her YourTube channel has been totally scrubbed of the popular star’s music videos. 

‘THEY REMOVED NAMIE AMURO’S MUSIC OFF SPOTIFY’ posted one distressed fan.

Another wrote: ‘Not Namie Amuro’s entire discography leaving Spotify’ and one more chimed in: ‘Two hours ago I could listen to Namie on Apple Music.’

‘I would like to write about something that I have carried on my mind and have decided on the 25th anniversary of my debut’ the statement read. 

‘I, Namie Amuro, would like to take this opportunity to inform all of my fans of my decision to retire as of Sept 16, 2018. 

‘I plan to make the last year of my music career meaningful by focusing my full attention on creating a final album and performing at concerts. 

‘Then, I will welcome the date of September 16, 2018 in the best way that I can.’
