Fashion designer, 29, reveals EXACTLY what she ate for six months to lose all of her baby weight

An Australian fashion designer who has been candid about her difficulty falling pregnant shared the exact meals she ate to lose her baby weight after giving birth late last year.

Co-owner of Sabo Skirt Thessy Kouzoukas, 29, weighed 53kg before she gave birth to her daughter via IVF, and at her heaviest she weighed 75kg after.

She’s currently at 59.7kg – just 6.5kg away from the weight she wanted to be when she walks down the aisle towards longtime partner Georgio Batsinilas in Greece next month.

To lose the weight she stuck to a strict diet perfectly balanced in protein-rich meals, carbohydrates and fats.

For breakfast she has chia pudding or two Weetbix with berries on almond milk, she told Sporteluxe.

Morning tea includes a pot of yoghurt with a handful of berries before a lunch of turkey breast lettuce tacos.

Before she hits the gym she’ll indulge in a banana before finishing the session with nuts and a piece of fruit.

Finally dinner will be a source of protein, whether it be beef, chicken, fish or pork) and a Greek salad.

‘I’ve worked damn hard for this,’ Thessy told FEMAIL previously. ‘Every day I’m one step closer to my goal.’

Having always been slender, Thessy confessed she was surprised when she put on so much weight throughout and after pregnancy.

‘Losing a lot of weight is never something I’ve had to do in my life,’ she said.

‘I reached 75 kilograms at the end of my pregnancy and I thought I’d never be in the 50s again… the weight I put on in pregnancy STUCK to me.’

Thessy said it’s been ‘such a mission’ to get it off, but said that she weighed herself this week and has finally clocked in at 59.7kg.

‘Four months post partum some women have their bodies almost back to normal,’ she said of her physique before she started the two and a half month-long workout.

‘No, not me! I grew a human using a LOT of artificial hormones, so I am not ashamed or upset to post this photo. I know my body performed a miracle and I love myself for it.’

So how did the designer shake the weight?

Firstly, Thessy said she trained some five days a week.

‘Most of these days include a double session back to back of HIIT training [high intensity interval training], and a strength-based session to help increase my muscle mass.’

She said she has been religiously using the Fitazfk app, which has helped her to have ‘the confidence to go to the gym as it shows how to use equipment’.

When it comes to snacks, new mum Thessy said she hasn’t been depriving herself.

She’ll typically eat pieces of fruit, small amounts of rice crackers and a chocolate Paddle Pop stick, which she said she has enjoyed every night without fail.

Thessy has a particular interest in shaking her post-baby weight because she said she has a wedding to get in shape for:

‘I’ve set a goal to weigh a lean 53kg for my wedding day,’ she said. ‘I’m loving the process of getting fitter than I’ve ever been.’

Speaking about her tips for other women who want to lose their post-baby weight, Thessy said you should never go on a starvation diet.

‘Sure, when you have finished breastfeeding you can reduce your calories, but make sure you have enough to fuel your body throughout the day. Eat the right food and eat them around your training times.’

Thessy also said she recommends ‘smart treat meals like ‘Paddle Pop sticks’ and move every single day.

‘You need to build your engine so you can have your body burn fat when you’re not training,’ she said.

‘I also include fasted walks twice a week.’
