Female tourist choked until she passes out in Malaga CCTV footage

This is the terrifying moment a female tourist on her way home from a night out in the Spanish party resort of Malaga was choked unconscious by a male mugger. 

Distressing CCTV footage shows the man holding his victim – a German woman – in a rear choke hold for around seven seconds until she passes out.

The disturbing attack took place in the early hours of November 19 as the woman made her way home from a night out, and police are now hunting the attacker. 

Footage taken from a camera overlooking the alley where the assault happens shows the victim slumping to the floor after blacking out. 

The attacker can be seen laying her on her back and going through her pockets, as a female accomplice appears and stands lookout.

Two men – hotel workers who heard the scuffle – then come running over and chase the pair away, who appear to flee empty handed.

The men stand over the woman until she regains consciousness. 

They took the victim back to their hotel to recover and called National Police, who are now working to locate the male crook.

Local media reported earlier today that the woman had been arrested.

Malaga – a popular destination for British holidaymakers – saw more than 1.4 million tourists staying in the city’s hotels in 2019.
