Firefighters tackle a huge blaze at a ‘new build’ block of flats in east London

  • Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters attending fire in De Pass Gardens, Barking

Firefighters are battling a huge fire at a block of flats in east London.

Ten fire engines and at least 70 firefighters have been called to the fire in the ‘new build’ De Pass Gardens, in Barking.

Another picture showed the smoking block of flats with flames partly extinguished and a fireman’s hose spraying on it. 

Twitter user Marcelo posted a video of the fire on Twitter and claimed the fire brigade had still not attended 30 minutes after the fire started.

They said: ‘Barking Riverside!!! And 30min and not fire brigades!!! Help’

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.

London Fire Brigade confirmed they are in attendance on Twitter.
