Furious Draymond Green blasts the NBA’s new tentative CBA because ‘players lose again’

Furious Draymond Green blasts the NBA’s new tentative CBA because ‘players lose again’ as he launches into Twitter tirade about ‘trash’… and says he’ll say even more on his podcast!

Golden State Warriors star has gone on a social media tear, ripping the NBA and players union for the latest collective bargaining agreement which will kick in this summer.

The agreed upon seven-year CBA will include a second luxury tax level that, when reached, will keep teams from using their midlevel exception to sign players. That was a clear compromise, given how some teams wanted the so-called ‘upper spending limit’ that would have essentially installed an absolute ceiling on what can be spent each season.

Their collective belief was the playing field between the teams that are willing to pay enormous tax bills – like the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors – and those who aren’t would be better balanced. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the soon-to-be introduced second salary cup ‘apron’, which is $17.5million over the tax line, would hinder teams who spend highly on the salary cap and luxury tax.

Wojnarowski noted the changes will be progressively introduced, but that Milwaukee’s Joe Ingles, the ex-Clipper John Wall, Boston’s Danilo Gallinari and Golden State’s Donte DiVincenzo would not have been able to sign for those teams under the imminent restrictions.

‘Players lose again… Middle and Lower spectrum teams don´t spend because they don´t want to,’ Golden State’s Draymond Green posted to Twitter.

‘They want to lose. So increase their spending capabilities, just to increase them. They continue to cut out the middle. And this is what we rushed into a deal for? Smdh! Never fails.’

Green then continued on, criticizing the agreement made by the players association.

‘Never seen someone go to a table with the assets that makes an entire machine go, and lose EVERY time! Blasphemous.

‘I was excited…. A deal about to get done!!! TRASH!!! *Bubba Dub voice.’

Green also hit out at a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania that in-season NBA tournaments — to begin in 2023-24 — would earn players on the winning team $500,000 each. This contrasted previous reports players may be in for a $1m windfall.

‘What happened to the 1mm they said when this idea was first introduced?!?! sheesh we lost 500k there too!,’ he said with laughing emojis.

After a user question Green’s frustration given the millions he and other players earn, he described the value the players have on the perpetually lucrative NBA.

‘You mean the people who get millions to play a sport?’ the user wrote, referring to Green’s mockery at what players had won in the new CBA.

Sharply, Green replied: ‘You mean the people who generate billions to make millions? Yeah those people!’

When told to ‘boycott’ and ‘sit out’ by another, Green conveyed his concern was with those just starting out, and those soon to play, in the Association.

‘I’m in year 11 bro. It’s the younger guys and also those that aren’t in the league yet that gets F*cked!’
