‘I’ve just had a baby, he was my little Christmas elf!’: Gemma Arterton reveals she welcomed her first child in December
Germma Arterton has confirmed she welcomed her first child in December.
The actress went public with her pregnancy in November, and during an appearance on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Wednesday she revealed the happy news of her son’s birth.
‘We are very very happy, he was born just before Christmas. A little Christmas elf’ Gemma gushed.
The baby boy is the first child for Gemma and her actor husband Rory Keenan, who starred in Peaky Blinders.
The 36-year-old actress announced her pregnancy by displaying her burgeoning baby bump at the Raindance Film Festival awards in November.

Zoe told Gemma she was looking fabulous after she arrived for the Breakfast Show in a pink satin mini dress and matching coat and heels.
‘It’s the power of the paintbrush,’ the new mum insisted.
Gemma, the daughter of a welder and a cleaner, grew up on a council estate in Gravesend, Kent and won a scholarship to train at RADA before going on to star in the Bond film Quantum Of Solace as seductive agent Strawberry Fields in 2008.
The actress, who tied the knot with Peaky Blinders star Rory in a secret ceremony in 2019 – said in previous interviews that she was unsure about having children.
Before the announcement last week – she was recently spotted caressing her rounded stomach while out in Soho, London, fueling speculation that she may be expecting.
‘I don’t think you can ever plan the right, exact time,’ she told The Times in 2013.
‘I don’t feel ready for kids because I want to know that I can come back and still be valuable to the industry.’
‘That’s only going to happen when I feel a little bit more accomplished… or at least when I’ve accomplished something of which I’m proud.’
Gemma is currently on the promo trail for her new Sky series Funny Woman, where she plays a beauty queen seeking TV fame.
The sitcom is based on the novel by Nick Hornby. Arterton plays Barbara Parker, a regional beauty queen (Miss Blackpool) who moves to London in search of TV fame.
