Who will headline Glastonbury 2024?

Previously, The Mail on Sunday exclusively revealed that Madonna, Dua Lipa and Coldplay are the leading contenders to headline Glastonbury in 2024.

After months of discussion, the three iconic singers are reportedly set to appear on the Pyramid Stage, though the official line-up is yet to be revealed.

One festival insider said: ‘It’s the dream line-up, a brilliant mix of different music and different atmospheres. Then, of course, you have Madonna on the final night, which will be epic.’

The usual eagle-eyed detective work from fans has also seen Ed Sheeran emerge as a possible headliner at Worthy Farm.

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, fan account Glastopia, reposted a picture of Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics tour dates across Europe and Asia, captioned: ‘I spy a big gap in June’.

The poster shows dates that Sheeran is set to play in Malta and Tenerife in June 2024, with an asterisk denoting that venues and dates for each of the shows remain  unconfirmed.

There are no further dates in June, with Sheeran’s next concert on that tour currently slated to be in Gdansk, Poland, on July 12 2024, leaving a big gap for Sheeran to appear at Glastonbury once again.

When will Glastonbury 2024 lineup be announced?

When it comes to releasing the lineup, Glastonbury’s organisers are notoriously good at keeping an expectant crowd in the dark over who might appear at Worthy Farm. If previous years are anything to go by, that is unlikely to change.

There are some small hints when certain acts are announced, however.

Since 2016, it has not been uncommon for one headliner to be announced by the end of November in the year prior to the upcoming festival.

Billie Eilish was the earliest headliner to ever be announced, when she was confirmed to be appearing at Glastonbury 2022 on October 4 2021.

Conversely, the latest time for the first headliner to be confirmed was on March 27, 2013, when the bill was announced just under three months before Arctic Monkeys, The Rolling Stones and Mumford & Sons were set to take to The Pyramid Stage.
