Grant Denyer bids a heartfelt farewell to Family Feud

He’s the affable TV veteran who has fronted the popular Channel Ten game show Family Feud since it’s revival in 2014.

And Grant Denyer ,40, treated the crew of the long-running game show to a farewell cruise around Sydney Harbour on Thursday.

Taking to Instagram, Grant shared a short clip that showed some of the more adventurous crew taking a dip in the wintry waters despite the inclement weather.

Grant however, decided to keep his feet dry on the boat, but could be heard in the clip laughing heartily as his colleagues lolled about in the ocean.

‘When everyone decides it’s time to swim in Sydney Harbour . Feud farewell parties rock . So glad I organised this @oneworld_charters,’ Grant captioned the video.

His fans were quick to comment on the seasonally inappropriate video with the likes of: ‘Isn’t the water cold? @grantdenyer you will be missed mate.’

Taking to Instagram, also on Thursday,  Grant shared a long-winded and sincere post about his tenure on the popular show, augmented with an image of his name emblazoned on his dressing room door.

‘Hardest thing I’ve ever done,’ Grant started the post. ‘Saying goodbye to this. Final records are now done. It saved my career. I’ve worked with the nicest people in my life.’

He continued: ‘A massive crew who have worked harder that i ever had to make you laugh every night. They put the show before their families, friends & lives. I can’t repay that.

‘But I want them to know I love them so much. I’ve had the absolute best time. Pure magic. You rarely get this chance to have this much fun and make an impact. To the 5000 families who played with us… thank you. Tonight I raise a glass never been so happy or thankful. A dream come true.’

The sentiment was met with a flurry of well wishes from fans with the likes of: ‘Your a bloody ripper mate onward and upward fingers crossed we will be tuning into you again soon!’

 Grant revealed that he was looking for new work last month when he revealed the axing of Family Feud on his 2DayFM’s Em, Grant & Ed radio show.

‘I’ve got a big announcement guys. Family Feud is wrapping up,’ the affable host succinctly told listeners.

With Grant’s role on Family Feud over, he is already looking toward new projects with the star announcing last week that he will front the Australian version of Ellen DeGeneres’ hit show, Ellen’s Game Of Games.

Speaking to News Corp on Sunday, the 40-year-old father-of-two revealed that he was a huge fan of the talk show Queen and that he was over the moon at the opportunity.
